Sustainabilty case study

Working with No Floor No More to repurpose the carpet used for the Novomatic booth at ICE 2024.

no floor no more

At ICE London 2024 Evolve created a show-stopping 3,500 sqm booth for NOVOMATIC. In order to network hundreds of machines across the show floor a raised platform and carpet is a necessity. You can read more about the show here. Carpet is very difficult to recycle and often ends up in landfill.

We partnered with No Floor No More to ensure the high-quality carpet was carefully removed at the end of the show and reused.

making a house a home

No Floor No More campaigns to achieve policy change around the condition in which UK council houses are provided to new tenants. When a council property is re-issued it is required to be stripped bare, no matter the condition of the existing flooring. Tenants often are unable to fund new flooring, and therefore thousands of households are living with bare floor boards or concrete.

The carpet from Novomatic’s booth at ICE has already been used in over 20 council houses and flats, including homes for women with very young children escaping domestic violence.

We are so pleased to be able to support this brilliant organisation founded by the amazing Pia Honey and to see the carpet used again in such a purposeful way.

Below are some of the before and after pictures Pia has taken.

working towards the future

At Evolve we increasingly design without raised platforms or carpets. Our booths at Gamescom are a good example of this. Where carpets are essential because of the sheer volume of cabling required we are moving to more sustainable options which are manufactured using recycled materials. This is one step in a long journey.
